VCX Forum, an independent non-profit organization reviewing camera phones, gave the Galaxy S23 Ultra the highest rating. The phone's camera system received 69 points out of 100, which might not sound like a lot, but according to VCX Forum's scoring system, 69 points is enough to rank atop all other smartphones they tested.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra has an “outstanding” rating. It outperforms all other Android and iOS devices, including the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Google Pixel 6 Pro, the Asus Zenfone 8, the iPhone 13 Pro Max, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
These results are very unlike DxOMark's in its review of the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera. While Samsung's flagship ranked 10th in DxOMark's system, VCX Forum pushed the S23 Ultra atop its list of camera phones, giving it a perfect score of 10 in numerous areas.
Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra is its first phone to sport a high-resolution 200MP primary sensor, the ISOCELL HP2. It's accompanied by a 10MP periscope camera with 10x optical zoom capabilities, another 10MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra is capable of recording 8K videos at 30 frames per second, as well as 4K@60fps and 1080p videos at up to 960fps for super slow motion.
Samsung is selling its latest premium flagship phone for $1,199. However, you can buy the Galaxy S23 Ultra for a lower price if you trade in an older phone. The company is willing to shave up to $750 off the retail price.
