The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom News
News Nintendo's Quiet 2024 Led To 26% Drop In Physical Game Sales (UK)
And it's not getting much better
Nintendo had a pretty quiet year in 2024, all told. Sure, it launched some pretty significant games like The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, but there was definitely a sense that the company was starting to wind things down ahead of its big Switch 2 reveal early in 2025. As...

Nintendo has confirmed that select Switch games will receive a free upgrade to improve playability and performance on the Switch 2. Some titles may also receive added functionality for GameShare. Talking Point What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th February)
Sleepy time
It's the weekend folks, so hopefully you're already putting your feet up, sipping on a nice cup of tea, and enjoying a bit of down time with some games. This week in the world of Nintendo, a new placeholder listing at a retailer may (or may not) hint towards a cheaper-than-expected price for the Nintendo Switch 2. Meanwhile, a new...
News No Wins For Nintendo At DICE Awards, But Balatro Bags A Three Of A Kind
And Animal Well wins 'Best Direction'
The 28th annual DICE Awards ceremony has recently taken place in Las Vegas, and though Astro Bot robbed Nintendo of any potential wins (perhaps deservedly, to be honest – it's a bloomin' good game), there were a few notable nods toward a couple of outstanding indie titles available on Switch. Those games are...

Fus-Ro-Dah!
Crikey, it only feels like yesterday when we all sat down to discuss our weekend plans, doesn't it? Don't worry folks, that April Direct will be here before you know it. Anyway, let's see what's been going on in the world of Nintendo this week. First up, the company revealed its latest financial data in which the Switch was confirmed to...
Random Someone's Tried To Fix Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom's Awful UI
Cross-media bar! Radial menu! Spirals!
One of the biggest criticisms we, and indeed the Zelda community at large, had with Echoes of Wisdom was its awful UI design for the echoes. It's a rare blip in what is otherwise an exceptionally well-crafted Zelda title in which you're presented with a single row of echo abilities that simply widens further...

First, let's recap some of this week's most interesting stories. First up, Nintendo reiterated Donkey Kong's new look with some fresh merch, while we explored what we might like to see in the...
Talking Point What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th January)
Swing, king
This week might not have brought us the Switch 2 bonanza that dominated the last, but there was still plenty to talk about in the world of Nintendo. We got a teeny, tiny development update from the Silksong team (turns out, the game is still real) and chatted all things space with Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector

Hands On Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom Brings Tantalising Creativity To The 2D Template
Echo, Echo, Echo, what's going on here?
It’s fairly safe to say that everyone was pretty jazzed when Nintendo announced The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. We haven’t had a new top-down Zelda game since 2013’s A Link Between Worlds, assuming of course you don’t count Tri Force Heroes, and if that was your mindset, we wouldn't entirely...
About The Game
Save the kingdom of Hyrule—this time with the wisdom of Princess Zelda!
The people of Hyrule are being stolen away by strange rifts that have appeared—and with a certain swordsman among the missing, it’s up to Princess Zelda to save her kingdom in a brand-new The Legend of Zelda™ story!
Team up with the mysterious fairy, Tri, and use the Tri Rod to create “echoes”, which are imitations of things you find in the environment—then recreate those echoes whenever you like to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Create echoes like water blocks to reach new heights, make bridges out of old beds, throw rocks at foes—or find your own creative combination of echoes to do things your way. You can even create echoes of monsters to fight at your side in combat!

Shouldn't this be called The Legend of Link?
@Mortenb great observation.
@Mortenb Very clever. I like that a lot.
It’s a shame it’s a Zelda game and needs to not be complicated by a name change but it might have been nice. I wonder if anyone at Nintendo thought of it?
How is everyone liking this? Have a long flight coming up and was looking for a physical copy game
