We are deeply appreciative of their unwavering support and belief in our mission. #kabuni In recent years, the metaverse and spatial computing have emerged as transformative technologies, offering immersive digital environments for interaction, learning, and exploration. As advancements in generative AI, haptic suits, and eye-tracking continue to unfold, it is imperative to explore the impact of the metaverse on children's online experiences and address concerns related to their safety. The VIRRAC (Virtual Reality Risks Against Children) research project, generously funded by REPHRAIN National Research Centre on Privacy, Harm Reduction and Adversarial Influence Online, the national research center on privacy, harm, and adversarial influence online, is dedicated to this critical endeavor. Led by Professor Julia Davidson OBE, Director of the Institute of Connected Communities at the University of East London, and Prof Elena Martellozzo, Associate Director at the Centre For Abuse & Trauma Studies | Training at Middlesex University, the VIRRAC project is supported by esteemed colleagues Paula Bradbury, Dr. Ruby Rosemarie Farr PhD, and Boglarka M.. Nina Jane Patel, Kabuni's President of Research + Safety, was key to initiating this partnership and was fundamental in producing the outcomes of the research and engaged with renowned experts from diverse fields to come together to share their insights and perspectives on this pressing issue as part of our ongoing research efforts.
