Artificial intelligence is something we encounter multiple times per day, often without even realising. Now AI could be moving into the world of cycling too after computer company Acer decided to launch an AI-driven e-bike. It may sound like youâll soon be dodging AI-controlled bikes whizzing around the streets. In reality the AI part of the bike only controls certain systems such as managing the battery and assistance level for greater efficiency, plus it controls a collision avoidance system.
There are lots of concerns in general about AI and the power it could yield, so should the cycling world also be worried about a potential AI takeover? In this weekâs GCN Tech Show, Alex is joined by Manon to discuss the pros and cons of AI technology. We even recruit tech nerd Ollie for his thoughts too, and he has some bold predictions that you may not have expected.
With the AI conundrum covered, our duo turn their attention to this weekâs hottest tech, including a new time trial helmet from POC, an update from Wahoo, new Giro dâItalia-inspired routes on Komoot, plus much more.
As always, Alex and Manon will also respond to your Comments of the Week before casting their eyes over the best Bike Vault submissions. This week we received a lot of super-nice bikes, including a Colnago C68, a Giant track bike, plus a Pinarello.
