While Pokemon Go seems to be getting tougher for rural players to enjoy, several fans got together to commend one particular aspect of the game, and it’s not what you’d think.

Pokemon Go is continually changing things or adding new features, and while fans like some new features such as Routes, the increase in in-person events like Shadow Raids or Elite Raids with Pokemon like Enamorus has left some rural players feeling a bit left out.

It’s tough to get a gang together to play Pokemon Go at the best of times, but if you live out in the sticks, it can be a real challenge to find enough eager players to travel and take down some tough bosses with you.

Thankfully, there are some advantages to living out in the middle of nowhere, as some players have shared online.

Rural Pokemon Go players flaunt their Showcase wins

A Pokemon Go player by the name of u/slasherman has shared a Reddit post online, with the text “The only benefit of being rural.” As well as this, the post shows off the fact the user has achieved first in several Pokemon Showcases.

A Pokemon Go Showcase is a chance for players to show off their biggest and best Pokemon, with rewards for the best Pokemon including Stardust. It’s also the key to getting the newly added Ph.D. Pikachu, so many fans are now turning to this mechanic to bag their own.

Other players commented on the difficulty of Showcases, as well as their situation as a rural player, underneath the original post.

One comment says, “This showcase was brutal. Even with three stars in all categories I was still ending up in like 27th place.” Meanwhile, another comment adds, “Honestly with PhD Pikachu being so dope, you could find some showcases that are a bit remote and without much competition.”

A Pokemon Go player adds their own view, living in a city, by adding, “I live in Los Angeles, I’ve only ever won 2 and don’t plan on winning many others. Even getting top 10 is tough, usually 100+ on each one.”

It’s clear that whether you live in a rural area or a city, there are different ways that Pokemon Go can be a blessing or a curse. Hopefully, Niantic does more to balance these features in the future.
