A huge event schedule is lined up for Pokemon Go in May 2024, so we’ve compiled a full list of dates from Community Days to Spotlight Hours and special events like Rivals Week.
Despite launching on mobile devices almost eight years ago, Pokemon Go still has a massive community of players around the world who log in every day to catch ’em all and battle with friends. A big reason is the events that Niantic hosts in the game.
In addition to the monthly Community Days and weekly Spotlight Hours, which focus on a specific Pokemon, there are always themed events that celebrate everything from Halloween to the release of new mainline Pokemon games like Scarlet & Violet.

All upcoming Pokemon Go events in May 2024
You can find information on every Pokemon Go event in May 2024 below, including details of Community Days, Spotlight Hours, and Raids. We’ll keep this page updated throughout the month.
Go Battle Weekend (May 4 – May 5)
The Go Battle Weekend increases the maximum number of sets daily from five to 20. It also grants players four times the Stardust from win rewards.
Rivals Week (May 4 – May 9)
Pokemon Go has Rivals Week, which focuses on Pokemon species known to have rivalries with one another such as Zangoose and Seviper. These Pokemon, plus others, will appear more frequently during the event and have increased Shiny odds.

Flock Together Research Day (May 11)
The Flock Together Research Day allows trainers to encounter certain Flying-type Pokemon more frequently in the wild. Featured Pokemon include Spearow, Rufflet, Doduo, and more.

Catching Wonders (May 14 – May 19)
No information on Catching Wonders has been announced yet.
Community Day (May 19)
The headliner for May Community has not been announced yet. The event will take place on May 19 from 2 PM to 5 PM local time.
Ultra Space Wonders (May 23 – May 28)
No info on Ultra Space Wonders has been announced yet, though the event starts the same day that Blacephalon and Stakataka make their debuts in 5-Star Raids.
Incense Day (May 26)
No details have been announced for May 2024’s Incense Day, but based on past events, we expect this to focus on attracting certain Pokemon using Incense.
Pokemon Go May 2024 Spotlight Hours
NianticThere are four Spotlight Hours to look forward to in Pokemon Go this month, which we’ve listed below alongside their bonuses:
- May 7 – Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee with double Transfer Candy
- May 14 – Abra with double Evolution XP.
- May 21 – Elgyem with double Catch Stardust
- May 28 – Mareanie with double Catch XP
Spotlight Hours take place every Tuesday from 6 pm to 7 pm local time. Prepare for them by stocking up on Poke Balls and clearing out your Pokemon storage.

Pokemon Go May 2024 Raid Hours
NianticThere are four Raid Hours to look forward to in Pokemon Go this month, which we’ve listed below:
- May 1 – Registeel
- May 8, May 15 – Tapu Fini
- May 22 – Regirock
- May 29 – Blacephalon (Western Hemisphere), Stakataka (Eastern Hemisphere)
Raid Hours take place every Wednesday from 6 pm to 7 pm local time. During this hour, the featured Pokemon will appear more frequently in Raid Battles at Gyms.

Pokemon Go May 2024 Research Breakthrough
NianticThe Pokemon available as Research Breakthrough rewards for May 2024 have not been announced. The following were available for April 2024: : Goomy, Hisuian Sneasel, Furfrou, Sandygast, Jangmo-o, and Dubwool. You’ll be given one of these Pokemon encounters at random.
To earn a Research Breakthrough, you’ll need to complete seven Field Research tasks during May. If you complete one every day, you could earn up to four encounters during the month.
