Charizard has even greater potential now thanks to its Gigantamax form, which enables it to shine brighter than ever before. Speed is key in a lot of Pokemon battles, especially if you’re looking to quickly sweep your foes. Fortunately, this is one area Charizard excels in. 

With a whopping Speed stat and Sp. Atk, Charizard is capable of dishing out some particularly lethal attacks. The Pokemon’s damage can reach even greater heights when used in coordination with moves like Harsh Sunlight and Sunny Day, which buff all Fire-type moves.

Charizard’s Solar Power ability even multiplies this Pokemon’s Special Attack by 1.5, making moves like Fire Blast and Focus Blast much more deadly.

6. Incineroar

Incineroar is the final evolution of Litten, the Pokemon Sun & Moon Fire-type starter. As a Fire/Dark dual-type, Incineroar gets STAB from moves like Flare Blitz and Darkest Lariat, both benefitting from its 115 base Attack. 

While Incineroar may fall to Water-type Pokemon, it actually can learn Thunder Punch to exploit their weakness. Additionally, the ‘mon’s Intimidate hidden ability can lower the attack of all opponents by one stage. This is especially useful in double battles.

5. Volcarona

Known as the Sun Pokemon in the Pokedex, Volcarona is a fearsome Bug/Fire-type creature from the Unova region that’s gained a reputation as a Special stat beast with 125 Special Attack and 105 Special Defense – both of which can be boosted further with Quiver Dance.

Volcarona has some great moves to choose from, two useful abilities in Flame Body and Swarm, and it’s also one of the few Bug-type Pokemon that’s not weak to Fire-type attacks (although it does have a double weakness to Rock, so watch out for that).

4. Gouging Fire

Besides having a really unique design, the ancient version of Entei was given the Dragon typing, which is one of the strongest types in the whole franchise. As a Fire/Dragon-type Pokemon, Gouging Fire has 5 resistances and is only vulnerable to three types: Ground, Rock, and Dragon.

Additionally, this ancient creature has an outstanding Defense stat that allows it to hold its ground in battle for a longer time than even the regular Entei.

3. Ogerpon Hearthflame Mask

• Debut: Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Introduced in the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC, Hearthflame Mask is one of Ogerpon’s many available forms. As only the second Grass/Fire dual-type, it takes neutral damage from Water-type attacks and increased damage from Flying, Rock, and Poison moves. 

While holding the Heartflame Mask, Ogerpon’s Attack is boosted by its Embody Aspect hidden ability. With its 120 base Attack, Ogerpon can take advantage of moves like Woodhammer,Superpower, and it’s signature move Ivy Cudgel which changes type with each of Ogerpon’s masksThe Legendary also has access to Horn Leech to restore health and Spiky Shield to defend against attacks.

2. Ho-Oh

• Debut: Pokemon Gold & Silver
• Type: Fire/Flying
• Weaknesses: Water / Rock / Electric

Ho-Oh shares the same base stats as Reshiram, but it just narrowly misses out on claiming second place. This is partly down to it being vulnerable to popular rock-type moves like Stone Edge. However, despite its looks, Ho-Oh is incredibly tanky due to its high Sp. Def. It also has the highest HP out of the top three Fire-type ‘mons, which makes it the perfect Pokemon to switch between when applying various status effects. 

Ho-Oh’s ability, Regenerator also enables it to restore 1/3 of its maximum HP wherever it is switched out. Moves like Toxic, Sacred Fire, Whirlwind, and Defog give Ho-oh tremendous amounts of utility, so consider using this Legendary bird if you wish to greatly shake up your foe’s game-winning strategy.

1. Primal Groudon

Groudon is capable of sweeping even the strongest teams thanks to its potent Attack, high Sp. Atk, and stalwart Defense stats. Because of this powerful combination, Groudon remains a top pick for those looking to sweep their foe’s entire team. 

If this wasn’t enough, the third-gen Legendary’s Ground/Fire typing also gives it decent move coverage, enabling it to learn lethal moves like Stone Edge and Aerial Ace. Meanwhile, the buffs from Sword Dance also ensure Groudon’s signature move, Precipice Blades, hit insanely hard.
