James Lynch is a Games Writer on Dexerto's UK team, specializing in Destiny, World of Warcraft, Baldur's Gate, Elden Ring, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Assassin's Creed, strategy and RPG games. He also has bylines at CBR and GG Recon.

What I Cover

I cover RPGs, MMOs, strategies & action-adventures, but also lots of games besides these, across all platforms. I have expertise in World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Destiny, Warframe, all of the big RPG series, and Magic: The Gathering.

My Experience in Gaming

After working at a theatrical agency for years, I started a gaming blog in 2018 and accrued an unexpected number of views, making the switch to Journalism in 2020. After gaining a Master's in journalism, I wrote for several outlets including GameRant, CBR and GGRecon, before joining the amazing team at Dexerto full time in 2023 as a Game Writer. Over the years, I've probably played every type of game going, but my biggest loves have always been MMOs and single-player RPGs. Competitive multiplayer games also have a special place in my heart, but put a game of any genre in front of me and I'll give it a go. When I'm not busy at the computer, you can usually find me supporting Brentford F.C.

BA (Hons) in History from Birkbeck University. MA in Journalism from University of Brighton. MSc International Business from Queen Mary. Winner of Santander X University of Brighton Ideas Competition for gaming coverage blog.
