Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player escapes “certain death” after test fall in DLC

This Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player wanted to test the limits of fall damage in The Indigo Disk DLC’s new area, but it seems the game was prepared for that.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet introduced a fully open-world experience to the franchise, and every nook and cranny on the map is explorable, even in the DLCs. Koraidon and Miraidon’s ability to climb and glide surely helps in this kind of feat.

The Indigo Disk DLC added a new mechanic to the game, very useful for curious trainers who want to explore the Terarium. The Legendary box-art Pokemon can now permanently fly inside the new area, and the upper reaches of the Blueberry Academy’s globe have some secrets.

Reddit user ‘GardenSquid1’ could’ve gone to find the secret items hidden on top of the Tera Globe in the Terarium, but instead, he tried something else.

When trying to test the “extent” to which the Rotom hidden inside the player’s phone is “willing” to save their life, the OP fell from the Tera Globe into the Terarium. Luckily, he discovered that the Rotom phone was more than prepared to mitigate the fall in the Scarlet and Violet DLC.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet subreddit users quickly jumped to comments, adding that this was “unrealistic” as the fall would “yank up” the trainer’s arms from its body. Of course, as you probably wonder, he added: “Not that I seriously care about realism in a Pokémon game.”

On a more serious note, user ‘youkrocks’ compared this mechanic to the one found in Pokemon Legends Arceus: “Doing this in Legends Arceus would prompt you to restart the game.” The comparisons did not end there, as another user directly changed the game’s title: “Pokémon Tears Of the Kingdom.”

“Dude, falling off the terrarium sphere is the most fun I’ve ever had in a Pokémon game,” commented user ‘mrbrucel33.’ Not many trainers knew that this feat was possible, as they also jumped into this last comment and said: “I was honestly shocked at how huge/high up it is.”
