Shadow Raids may be popular among Pokemon Go fans but a few players have highlighted some “frustrating” reasons which have left many unable to participate in these Raid battles.

Pokemon Go players can catch Shadow Pokemon to gain a competitive edge in PvP and PvE battles. These powerful Pokemon can be captured after defeating Team Go Rocket Grunts, Leaders, and their boss, Giovanni.

Some Shadow Legendaries are available in Shadow Raids, which take place on certain weekends and are some of the most challenging battles in the game.

But it looks like the Pokemon Go community isn’t too high on these Shadow Raids as the community pointed out a host of restrictions that, they believe, have made these Raids a pain to grind.

A Reddit user named ‘Southern_Balance3176’ made a post where they wrote: “Shadow raids are dumb” and then went on to elaborate how they are “frustrating as hell” due to their limited window, inability to Raid remotely, bad weather conditions, and being impossible to play for rural players.

The post prompted several Pokemon Go fans, who agreed with the OP, to share their views on Shadow Raids, with a user mentioning how underwhelming the participation for these events is.

“Shadow legendary raids just have the worst participation raid of any type of raid they’ve ever done. Even EX raids were easier to participate in, and those were rigidly planned pure RNG invite-only raids,” the trainer stated.

Others highlighted the challenges they face. Users commented: “I despise 5-star shadow raid weekends. I work during the week and I’m very busy. Most times I can’t even manage to get the valuable raid hour once a week” and “At the very least the 5-star raids should let you invite people.”

Shadow Raids not being able to be accessed with Remote Raid Passes is a major concern among fans. “Can’t they allow 1 remote? I know that it should be rare but come on… what are we supposed to do?” a person asked before another chipped in with: “I wish it was all remote raid capable.”

Considering the harsh weather conditions, some players mentioned that they don’t even “bother” doing Shadow Raids. On the other hand, the situation is also bad for rural players, as one said: “I can’t do them, I live countryside and only my dad plays so we can’t tackle alone and no one’s ever in them.”

These restrictions on Shadow Raids are undoubtedly hindering many players from enjoying them, and they end up relying only on Giovanni to get Shadow Legendaries, which may or may not be viable in the meta.
