Apple has recently announced that it will launch the Vision Pro headset on February 2, while pre-orders will go live the following week. The company shared a boatload of details in its press release, including the lens price and the accessories you will get with the $3,499 headset. It is now being reported that the company is removing the 'Pro' from the Vision Pro in its latest iOS 17 beta codes. This could mean the company is working on a non-Pro version of its headset.

Apple is preparing iOS for a non-Pro Apple Vision as it stopped mentioning "Pro" in iOS 17 beta codes

Apple's Vision Pro headset will be available to purchase starting next month. Ming-Chi Kuo recently reported that the headset will be sold out fast, creating shipping delays for some users. Henceforth, if you want to get your hands on the Vision Pro, we advise you to place the order as soon as possible before the headset sees potential delays. However, most users would not want to spend as much as $3,499 for a VR headset. The company could be working on its Apple Vision headset, which will miss the "Pro" branding, as detailed in the latest iOS 17.3 beta codes.

As discovered by 9to5mac, Apple's latest iOS 17 beta codes do not feature the 'Pro' label when mentioning the headset. The same strings previously stated the company's headset as Apple Vision Pro. Now, the code only reads Apple Vision.

For example, strings related to the App Store previously read “Mac, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro Apps”. Now, the same string reads “Mac, iPad, and Apple Vision Apps”.

It was previously reported that the company is working on a cheaper version of the Vision Pro headset. However, the company is speculated to announce a budget headset in the next couple of years. The code is only a change Apple implemented in recent iOS 17 beta codes. This does not mean that the budget Apple Vision Pro will launch soon. Apple is not unfamiliar with the "Vision" branding as its website lists the product as "Vision" instead of Vision Pro.

Until the company announces its budget headset for the mass market, the Vision Pro will allow developers to create further apps and use cases. The budget variant will reduce some of the 'Pro' features as it could feature fewer sensors, a slower chip, less premium material, and more. However, given the price of the Vision Pro, the budget variant could cost as much as $2,000. The company is preparing to launch Vision Pro in the United States on February 2.
