How much knowledge or experience with blockchain do I need to have to join Blockchain@USC?

Blockchain@USC is designed to serve the needs of all USC students interested in blockchain, regardless of knowledge or experience level. For our beginners, we have education cohorts and discussion nights created specifically as an introduction to the world of blockchain.

For students with extensive expertise in the subject matter, we provide opportunities to conduct your own research, participate in the governance of major protocols, hackathons, and networking opportunities with industry leaders.

How do I become a member of Blockchain@USC?

We release new member applications at the start of every semester. Keep an eye out for the application form on our social media, mailing lists, and website!

What events or involvements can I expect from Blockchain@USC?

Blockchain@USC has various initiatives running constantly. Education and discussion nights happen at least once weekly, and our research and governance teams also convene every week.

Many of our offerings are also more spontaneous in nature. Speaker nights, where industry leaders come in to do Q&A’s and lecture on their experiences, happen as often as we can bring guests in (typically once bi-weekly). Hackathons come around at least once per month, and of course our annual Southern California Blockchain Conference happens every Fall.

This doesn’t even include socials and other Southern California blockchain events the club gets involved with.

In short, there is no shortage of opportunities to get involved with the club!

Are there any professional opportunities available through the club?

Yes! Speaker nights give students a plethora of opportunities to network with the biggest names in blockchain. USC also boasts an extensive alumni network involved in the industry, who our executive board is happy to connect you with when the fit is right. Internship and job opportunities are also always circulating in club communication channels and our internal job board. Finally, the importance of building relationships with fellow club members cannot be overstated as we are all the industry leaders of tomorrow.
