Steam Link App Is Now Available for All Three Meta Quest Headsets - IGNdia

Steam Link, Valve’s software that allows you to stream games from your Steam library, has now added support for Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro headsets. This will now allow VR gamers to wirelessly play VR games on their headsets.

Steam Link is a free app that already allowed players to stream their PC games on phones, TVs and tablets. With this latest announcement, you can add Meta Quest to that list, meaning it is now possible for gamers to stream their VR games from their Steam library as well.

Earlier, the only way for Meta Quest owners to play Steam VR games was through a different software rather than Steam Link. Players had to use Oculus Air Link or Virtual Desktop to get Steam games working on their headsets. With Steam Link now supporting Meta Quest headsets, this will no longer require players to use external software, as highlighted by PC Gamer.

How to use Steam Link with your Meta Quest headset

If you’re wondering how to use Steam Link with your Meta Quest headset, this is how it works:

You’ll need to connect your router to your PC through a wired connection. Also, you should have your Meta Quest connected to a 5GHz Wifi network as well. Simply download and run Steam and SteamVR on your PC. Also, ensure that both Steam and SteamVR applications are updated. Download the free Steam Link app on your Meta Quest 2, 3, or Pro from the Meta Store. Then, follow the simple instructions to connect your PC wirelessly to your Meta Quest.

Steam VR Fest

This update also comes in at a perfect time for VR gamers with a Meta Quest headset. Steam VR Fest is starting from December 4 onwards and will run until December 11 where it will feature a variety of discounts and demos on many VR games.
