Founded in 1912, Bank of China is the country’s oldest continuously operating bank. In 1994 it was restructured into a wholly state-owned commercial bank; it has branches across the Chinese mainland as well as in 62 countries and regions. It operates through six segments: corporate banking, personal banking, treasury operations, investment banking, insurance, and other (including debt-to-equity swaps, and an aircraft and financial leasing business).
